Commitment to State Team Training
Being selected for the State Team is an exciting opportunity and a significant responsibility. Before accepting a place on the team, athletes and families must confirm availability for all scheduled State Team training dates.
State Team training sessions are considered mandatory. Athletes are expected to attend a minimum of 80% of training sessions to support skill development, safety, and team readiness. If attendance falls below this threshold, the athlete’s position on the team may be reviewed.
We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. If challenges occur, we encourage athletes and families to communicate with the coaching team as early as possible.
Commitment to State Team Accommodation
As part of the NSW State Team program, it is an expectation that athletes book and pay for the nominated State Team hotel through Karate NSW. This ensures athletes are appropriately supported by coaches, referees and team staff, allows for effective communication, and promotes a strong sense of team unity and togetherness throughout the National Championships.
We recognise that individual accommodation options may be available through discounted booking websites, however, we appreciate the understanding and support of athletes and families in committing to the State Team accommodation. Karate NSW is pre-purchasing over 120 rooms and securing a suitable hotel more than six months in advance to provide a stable, coordinated, and athlete-focused environment for the Championships.
